Hi, I am trying to help a friend start her family research and thought this might be a good place to start. Her grandfather Merle SLOAN was born 19 Jan 1902 and died Oct 1974 in the Sharon area of Mercer Co., PA. He was born a TATE (TAIT) and adopted by a SLOAN family at about age 7.
