Normally, when I think of (current day) Rowan Co. I think of the Henry Sloan line. However, I don't think this is case. I would guess the old Archibald Sloan Jr./Sr. of Lancaster Co. PA., since a James Cathey was m. to Isabelle Sloan his dau. However, I always thought most this line lived in current day Iredell Co. NC.
