My James Sloan may have been born in Lancaster, Pa but we are not sure when he was born. He did fight in the Revolution. Not proven, but I have been told his father was a Presbyterian Minister - David Harvey Sloan - who may have been from Scotland or Ireland. I have not been able to find DH Sloan as a minister in any Pa Presbyterian Church. This James was also married to an Elizabeth, Elizabeth Gibson and I don't know anything about her parents. Part of my research problem is the James Sloan of Archibald Sloan of Pa's family. Both the men named James lived in Lancaster at the same time. I kept finding deed records and things of that nature and thought that they were "my" James. However, after Mark Westfall posted his information last year, I decided I was probably following the wrong line. My history seems to start with James in the War and then moving to Armstrong Co, Pa with his brothers, Samuel, William and David. If his parents were still alive they evidently stayed where ever they were. Anyone else interested in this line? Beth Sloan eas@coam.net
