    3. I sent this message personally but decided it might be of interest to the list so have sent it on to you also since a Fergus Sloan had been a recent subject also. Nancy Giles Hi Sandra - Going over some older posts I copied and came across your of April 10, 1998 and have some information I can add to your Fergus Sloan, Jr. This is not my line of Sloan (at least I haven't proven it to be yet!). >From the Iredell County Tracks,(a quarterly published by Iredell County Gen. Soc.) probably the Feb edition as the top of my paper says continued from October 1991 Tracks and these usually were published quarterly: Pioneer Certificate Abstracts Pioneer Fergus Sloan (Sr.) was born in 1724, moved into the Iredell area on 27 August 1751, and died in Lincoln county, N. C. in 1812. He was married to Ann Elizabeth Robinson, who was born in 1723 and died in Iredell County, N. C. Children: Elizabeth (1750-1831 mar. Thomas Hall; William (1753-1827) mar. Jane Stevenson; Ann (1759 - )mar. Mussendine Matthews; Margaret (1763 -) mar William Harris; Robert (1767 -) mar. Martha Harris; Fergus (1770 -) mar. Prudence King. Line of Descent: Elizabeth Sloan Hall -- Prudence Hall Stevenson -- Matissa Stevenson Hill -- James Henry Hill -- James Lola Hill -- Mittie Ena Hill Linney -- Evangelena Linney Barber. Applicants: Mittie E. Hill Linney, 322 Broad St., Statesville, NC. and her daughter, Evangelena Barber. Sandra: I don't know if the above address is still viable, but I am sure you can check with either the telephone company for that area or an internet site like WHOWHERE. Or contact the Iredell County Gen. Society (again I don't have an address for them, but sure you could find it through Gen Web). Hope this was of help to you. Nancy Giles
