Good morning Ben, When I visiting in Ottawa a few years ago, I attempted to phone all the Sloan(e)s, Sloanes, Sloans in the city phone book in my attempt to contact all my relatives Sloan(e)s. However when I phoned a "Slone" I was told that the name is not Irish and that it comes from Eastern Europe and is a Jewish name. Happy hunting, V.
