I find it interesting that descendants of both Fergus Sloan of Iredell and James Sloan of Mecklenburg marry into the same family. Margaret Hall, daughter of your Elizabeth Sloan and Thomas Hall married James Hill. Their son John Sloan Hill married Henrietta Deweese, daughter of Jonathan Deweese and Margaret Boyd Irvin. Jonathan was the brother to our Aaron Deweese who was married to Elizabeth Sloan, daughter of James Sloan and Frances Brown (daughter of Benjamin Brown and Nancy Sloan) of Mecklenburg. Has anyone found a connection between Fergus Sloan and James Sloan? Has anyone been able to determine what Sloan family Nancy Sloan who was the wife of Benjamin Brown belongs to?
