    3. A couple of tidbits... The Sidney C. Sloan Bible record has the parents of my Sam Sloan (b. ~1826 AL, m. Jane Ray) as "Mark Sloan & wife name unknown". The last time I corresponded with Edna Sloan Cooksey was June 1997. At that time she was updating and proofing her Sloan book which could turn into two books: one on Samuel and Elizabeth Patterson Sloan and one on Patrick Sloan (I assume Samuel's brother). Here's an exerpt from her email: "...I have documents that may prove that, that Mark [the one living with Jesse] is the same Sampson listed in Patrick's will in 1809. This would make Jesse E., "Elias" possibly, that Mark's half-brother. Our Samuel is indeed from the Samuel & Elizabeth Patterson line. Proof is that Martha Sloan age 22, is still at home and has not married Allen Forkum (he's still w/parents) on the 1850 census. Thus proving that our Samuel is the one who has married 2nd Rhoda ? Davenport widow of Joseph Davenport, listed on the 1840 census and died shortly after. The Davenport children listed, Martha 19, and Brooks, Alvira, and Joseph are probably grandchildren of Rhoda." I look forward to seeing Edna's book. She has a web page at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/1632/index.html Michael Vaden mvaden@airnet.net F Mitchell wrote: > > This concerns the early Jessie, Samuel, & Mark Slone/Sloan.
