    3. Girard B. Sisson Girard Buell Sisson, 82, Corpus Christi, Texas, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at a hospital in Corpus Christi. Mr. Sisson was born April 9, 1920, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Dorothea and Dr. Eugene Sisson Jr., and had lived in Austin, Texas, before moving to Corpus Christi earlier this year. He was an Army veteran of World War II and graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. He had also lived in Kansas City, where he was a design engineer for more than 25 years. His second career was farming in Sikeston, Mo. Throughout his life, he was an inventor and held several patents. Following retirement at Kentucky Lake, he and wife, Barbara, moved to Austin. His survivors include his wife, Barbara Sisson, Corpus Christi; three daughters, Judy Hawley and husband, David, Portland, Texas, Jill Thompson, Liberty, and Janet Emler and husband, Dave, Arlington, Texas; a sister, Joan King, Alexandria, Va.; and seven grandchildren. Services will be private. The family suggests contributions to the First United Methodist Church Landscaping Department, Portland, Texas, 78374.
