    3. I believe many of us already have the following record, but tonight I found a little more information on the islands, which I intend to include in my genealogy of Richard(1). Re: Richard Sisson 1658, July 06: He bought of William Hall, both residents of Portsmouth, 1/300 part of Quononoquett (Conanicut) Island 1/300 part of Dutch Island, and two years later he sold same to Peleg Sanford, together with 1/300 part that he had bought of Thomas Manchester & also 1/300 part that he had in his own right. ____________ "In 1638, the English made arrangements to use Conanicut Island for grazing sheep. In 1657 a consortium of about one hundred buyers purchased Conanicut, Dutch & Gould Islands. They divided Conanicut Island into roughly one dozen large plots and reserved Dutch Island and parts of Conanicut Island for common use." Mary Jo Sisson March
