    3. Hello Cathy and Everyone, I'm glad you found the Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries Transcription Project. One of our own, Barb Austin is one of the key persons who works on the RI Historical Cemeteries Transcription Project. Barb is a descendant of Richard and Mary Sisson and a lot of other early settlers in Rhode Island, and she is a wonderful person, now a personal friend of mine. She gets out there in the weather, with her camera and pen/cil and paper, and makes sure that every gravestone on Aquidneck Island (where Portsmouth, Middletown, and Newport are) is photographed and its wording transcribed. She's been working on this project for many years. She lives in California, and spends April to October in Rhode Island. You can see some of Barb's photography on the page AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE OLD SISSON HOUSE IN PORTSMOUTH, RHODE ISLAND on the Sisson Genealogy Site:- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~dasisson/mintwater.htm It deals with Richard and Mary Sisson's home "Mintwater Brook Farm." It's not much like a farm today, but in the late 17th century when Richard and Mary lived there, and later their son George, it was a place to raise food and the ancestors of many of our ancestors. If you want to skip directly to Barb's pictures, scroll about halfway down the page to see a reference to Barb's 1999 visit to the house. All the pictures below that point are Barb's photographs. Here's to Barb! She's the best! David Arne Sisson Cathy Sisson wrote: > I also found the Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries Transcription Project and a quick search brought up a lot of Sissons.
