I am a descendent of Lorenzo D. Sisson. Lorenzo married Susan Mae Horn and had four children. The youngest of those children was Leland Lorenzo, who married Jennie Randa. They had four children, one of whom was my grandfather, William Lee Sisson. His son, David Lee, is my father. The only thing I know about Lorenzo D. is that he was from Ontario Canada. I have looked at your website, which is fantastic by the way, and I was wondering if anyone had any information or suggestions on where I could look for clues. Hi Kim! I looked in the US census and found Lorenzo Sisson (age 47) with his son Leland in 1910 living in Norton, Summit Co., OH. Lorenzo stated that he had been born in Canada, and his parents in England. He was working as a distiller for a chemical company. Going back to the 1880 census, Lorenzo gave his age as 16 and was working as a farm laborer in the household of James Tobias in Lansing, Michigan. He gave his birthplace as Canada. Going back to the 1870 census, 8-year-old Lorenzo Sisson, born in Canada, was living with a William Sisson, age 48, born in England, the two of them as farm laborers in the household of Orlan Giles in Bloomingdale, Michigan. Family relationships were not given, but William would be a good possibility for Lorenzo's father. If you go back to the Canadian censuses to find William before he came to the US, there are more than one possibility in approximately the right time frame, that is, William who said he was born in England, in the area of Manvers, Ontario, Canada. The Sisson family living in Manvers has been documented coming from the area of Westmoreland, England, by Jill Fyffe at: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=saby&id=I749 but I don't see quite the William that you are looking for here. Some of the siblings aren't completely documented yet. But I think this would be the place to investigate further for your group.
