    1. [SISSON-L] Sisson gathering in June in Richmond
    2. Laura Thompson
    3. Hi - Just a brief note as I am setting up my 2004 calendar - I look forward to attending the June 23-27 Sisson meeting in Richmond. My son, who lives near D.C., recently visited the Richmond historical sites and now I will have the opportunity to do so this summer. Any news update on the Sisson gathering? 3. Laura, thanks for bringing this up. It is time for an update and for marking the new calendars. We've been working on the program for the Gathering. It's not all carved in stone yet, but we've secured a special guest speaker for our closing dinner on Saturday evening (26th), and we think we'll have something educational for everybody, and a couple of especially interesting events. If anybody out there has an idea for topics or a presentation you'd like to make, please let either David Martin ([email protected]) or me ([email protected]) know about it soon. We have a large number of people on our list to be sent registration forms and details in the spring. Contact me if you want to be added to that list. And Laura's right. There is a lot of history within an hour of the hotel where we'll be meeting. Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Civil War battlefields, and plantations are all nearby, as well as the Virginia State Library and Archives. We're looking forward to meeting new Sissons and reuniting with those we've met before.
