I have been busy reorganizing the local library's genealogy department, and boy did it ever need it. I devote nearly all of my research time to local history now. We have a county web site to which I submit my findings. It is quite exciting, sometimes I find some great old records no one knew existed. I discovered, by accident, that the county actually owned several of the old rural cemeteries including the one where my pioneer ancestors are buried. It had been deeded to the county in 1872, and when I held the old (original) deed in my hand it was very exciting. The man who had deeded it was a civil war soldier, and had survived the Andersonville prison. You never know what you are going to find in these old courthouses, if you take the time to look.
