Elisha Field (1717-91) commanded a company at the battle of Bennington and had charge of the captured Hessians from the battlefield to the meeting-house. He was born in Sunderland, Mass.; died in Cornwall, Vt. Elisha Field, Jr. (1763-1852), served as private for the defense of the frontier. He was born in Bennington; died in Cornwall, Vt. Daniel Strong (1719-1806) served at New York and was under Gen. John Sullivan at the battle of Rhode Island. He was born and died in Lebanon, Conn. Jared Hinckley was a patriot during the revolution.
