Howard J. Sisson, 92, of 206 Roosevelt St., Alburnett (IA) died Sat. April 19, 2003 at his home after a long illness. Memorial services at 7 PM on Wed. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1221 Center Point Road NE. Private family graveside services at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his daughter, Judy Harford and her husband, John of Alburnett. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Dawn Loughren, Marcie Odean, Crissie, Jason and Dustin Harford and a great grandchild, Brenden Sauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Edward and two sisters, Velma McMurphy and Beatrice Siemsen. Howard was born on Aug. 3, 1910 in Beatrice, NE. the son of Edward and Nellie Gay Sisson. He married LaRee Rhoten on Oct. 3 1942 in Omaha, NE. She died in 1990. Howard was a bookbinder at Feiereisen Inc. for over 15 years, retiring in 1972. He was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 70 years. He was a former member of the C.C.C. and the Nebraska National Guard. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Howard's name.
