I am still searching for clues for my great grandfather , Samuel Sisson, 1840, WV -1906 KS. My nephew's DNA didn't match any other Sisson on record so far. I finally got the guardianship papers (Nov. 1850 Ohio Co.VA) naming RICHARD SISSON as the father and guardian of ISOBEL, MARQUIS, REBECCA, STEWART D, and SAMUEL. Do any of these names fit in with anyone's family? Also in the mortality schedule, VA, 1850, I found two Sissons listed. SARAH Richmond 40 yrs, pleurisy Dec, and JAMES F, 16 yrs.
