    1. [SISSON-L] FW: Possible Sisson Connection?

    3. Forwarded from Jamie: -----Original Message----- From: Jamie [mailto:[email protected]] Subject: Possible Sisson Connection? Seeking ancestors and descendants of Thomas B Johnson of Preston County (W)VA. It has been suggested to me that Mary, wife of Thomas, may have been a Sisson as they named one of their daughters Sisson. 1850 Census lists Thomas B Johnson, age 54; wife Mary, age 52; children: Aden, age 18; Sally, age 15; Sisson, age 13; William, age 10 and Thomas, age 7 or 9. I suspect that "Aden" was Adrian and that there were additional children - possibly Richard who would be about 33, Charles who would be about age 20 and maybe others. It appears that by 1860, Thomas B was dead. Sisson married Joseph Pride in 1855 in Preston County, by 1860 was in Dunkard Township, Greene County, PA. Also in Dunkard Twp in 1860 was Richard and Charles and their families, "Adrian" and his family, William with wife and mother; Thomas living with Sisson and Joseph. I have not located Sally. Sisson is said to have had 7 brothers who served in the Civil War, 6 returning, 1 died. I have the record for Adrian Johnson who served in PA Cavalry from Greene County who lists his place of birth as Preston County. Looking for any information on ancestors or descendants of this family. [email protected]
