FYI A relative sent me a clipping on C. H. Sisson, famous poet and critic who died recently. She wanted to know if we were related. As a descendant of the Robert/Amy line of Fairfax, Va., I could only respond that the Sisson genealogy list serv is still working on making a connection to England. Is there any new news on the group's endeavor? When I did an Internet search to learn more about C. H. Sisson, I came across this other interesting information. Does it pertain to anyone on our Sisson list? "The first settler on the Tuscarora creek (Pa.), within the present bounds of the township, was Oliver Sisson, who came thereto in 1805, and located four miles from the river, on the farm known on the Bradford county map as the " Cogswell Homestead," and the hill known. as Sisson hill received its name from him. He died in 1809, leaving all of his property to his wife.." Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites by Joyce M. Tice Pioneer & Patriot Families of Bradford County PA 1800-1825 Vol. II - Clement F.
