Hi Larry, Laura, I have collated an amount of information on this family - you can look at this site for some more information on Edward and his siblings. http://homepage.ntlworld.ie/niall.sisson/GeorgeSisson.htm I do not know if Richard is related to this family - there is more information posted on him on Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Richard_Sisson Regards, Niall. -----Original Message----- From: sisson-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:sisson-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of larry sisson Sent: 12 June 2007 23:57 To: Laura Thompson Cc: Sisson Subject: Re: [SISSON] Sisson author Hi Laura, I am not sure who this Richard is, but there used to be a Septimus Sisson that was the head of the Vetinary Department at Ohio State. There was a Sisson Hall there named after him. I believe it is still there. I believe he was there around 1930. Septimus was married but had no children that I am aware of. He and and his brother Edward Octavius Sisson came to the states from Durham County England around 1882 I believe. Edward was the first president of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinios. There is a Sisson Hall at Bradley named after Edward. Edward had a son named Calvin Richard Sisson but he died somewhere around 1999 in the state of Washington. Larry L. The book (encyclopedia) looks like a good read as it cost over $1 million to produce. Hi Niall, Great to hear from you again. Thanks for posting this. I have a lot of it already, but I don't have it organized. It is spread out in two or three different notebooks. I had also found some census records on Septimus and Edward here in the US. I had a obit on Edward's son Calvin Richard Sisson. I am not sure where it is now, buried somewhere here with a lot of my other info. The obit I believe mentioned that Calvin Richard Sisson had no children. There were other Sisson's in that same area of Washington state but I have no idea where they fit in as far as genealogy is concerned. You would think out of all this we could find a living descendant. There is no telling where this John Richard Sisson fits. Maybe I can write to the library at Ohio State and get some information.
