I have searched pretty thoroughly using Google, to no avail. Using Wikipedia I searched for Otsego County, NY, and found an 1829 map showing all the townships as of that date. None is named Arnal. And there are no villages of that name either. (Towns and villages are not the same, in New York anyway.) There are three maps of the county in the Wikipedia article, each of which can serve as a clickable link to a larger easier-to-read version of the map. For the Wikipedia article on the county see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otsego_County%2C_New_York The maps are at the right of the page. Perhaps the spelling of Arnal is wrong? I tried ArnEl. Nothing! Maybe someone else has suggestion? David Arne Sisson Mary Jo Sisson March wrote: > I have been searching records for Giles Sisson(4). I agree with Mary Jo that Giles(4) was highly likely not the one who was named Lieutenant due to his age at the time, if he was even still living by then. I gave up on belonging to Ancestry.Com, because the membership fee became very expensive. I imagine anyone who has a membership with them could look up Sissons for that year. Perhaps it would help straighten out our Giles research. Mary Jo ------------------------------ To contact the SISSON list administrator, send an email to SISSON-admin@rootsweb.com.
