I have been searching records for Giles Sisson(4). Unconfirmed records say that his 11th child, Sylvester was born in Arnal, Otsego Co., New York. The record goes on to say that Sylvester died in Unadilla about 1852. My question is: Where is Arnal? I have searched diligently in all the Otsego County records, and there are many of them, and there is no Arnal listed, in towns, villages, etc. I thought that perhaps by locating where Giles was living at the time his tenth child was born I would come nearer having a better time line on Giles. I am beginning to think this Arnal business is incorrect. Even Wikipedia doesn't have it. Please help. Mary Jo
Hello Everyone, I don't believe anyone has responded to Mary Jo about Arnal, Otsego County, New York. I have searched pretty thoroughly using Google, to no avail. Using Wikipedia I searched for Otsego County, NY, and found an 1829 map showing all the townships as of that date. None is named Arnal. And there are no villages of that name either. (Towns and villages are not the same, in New York anyway.) There are three maps of the county in the Wikipedia article, each of which can serve as a clickable link to a larger easier-to-read version of the map.
