Edward was born 24 May 1869, in New Castle on Tyne, England, and came to the US in 1882. His father, George, was born 1828, Lanchester, England, came to the US in 1882, lived two years in Kansas and returned to England. Edward was educated in Morpeth, England; graduated from Kansas State Agricultural College, Manhattan, graduating with a BS degree in 1886. Taught school in rural schools, Manhattan high school, and one year as superintendent at Mound City, Kansas. Enrolled in University of Chicago & obtained an AB degree in 1893. In 1892, founded South Side Academy, on of the best preparatory schools in Chicago. In 1897, became director of Bradley Polytechnic Institute at Peoria. In 1905, received his Doctor of Philosphy degree from Harvard. On 29 Nov 1899, Lawn Ridge, Illinois, Edward married Miss Nelllie Stowell, daughter of Calvin & Priscilla (Greenhalgh) Stowell. Her father was an Illinois farmer who died in Boise, ID. Her mother resided in Los Angles, CA. Sisson children: Margaret, b. 19 Feb 1908; Calvin Richard, b. 12 Jul 1910, Seattle, WA.; died 23 Mar 1992, Kitsap, WA. Edward O. Sisson died, 24 June 1949, Carmel, CA Nellie May Sisson died. 9 Apr 1945, Carmel, CA I am not related.
