    2. To all Sisson researchers.......During my research of my Louisiana, Mississippi Sisson I have obtained the death certificate of a William L Sisson who died in West Carroll Parish and to know avail have not been able to place him..Below I am enclosing research of this man by another researcher and maybe someone is looking for this link ...Janice Dear Janice, Thanks for sending the death certificate. I think this is your line: 1880: Spottsville, Henderson Co. KY p. 609A J. H. H., 4, male, KY Emily, 17, born Indiana (don't know WHO she was!) On ancestry.com, there are four entries for what I think has to be this James Sisson. None have sources, but here is what they say, and they are a good jumping off point: James L. Sisson, b. Aug 1798, Fairfax Co. VA, d. 16 Oct 1871, Jefferson Co. KY, son of Vincent Sisson, b. 1778, Richmond Co. VA and Julia ____, b. abt 1780, Fairfax Co. Married 24 July 1828, Margaret Randolph and had: Effie Sisson, b. 1829, James W. Sisson, b. 1833 Laura Sisson, b. 1841 S. E. Sisson, b. 1843 Unknown Sisson, b. 1846 Continuing: Vincent Sisson, born 1778, Richmond Co. VA, d. after 1850 in KY, married Julia ___ in Fairfax Co. VA. They had five children, James L. being one of them. This same tree says Vincent Sisson was the son of Robert Sisson, b. 1756-1760 in Richmond Co. VA and Sarah "Sally" Washington, b. 1760, VA. Robert died 21 April 1825 in Fairfax Co. VA. Robert was the son of William Sisson, b. abt 1735 in Maryland or Virginia, married Katherine/Catherine. William died after 1782. I have no idea how good the Fairfax and Richmond Co. Virginia records are on the internet. There used to be a Sisson family organization, but I've been out of touch with them for a very long time. I really thank you for putting me onto this research. For years I have wondered who the John Sisson in Henderson Co. was in the 1880 census. I was pretty sure he wasn't my John, but he was a mystery. Now the only mystery is why he was in Henderson Co. at all and why he wasn't a cooper any more. Good luck tracking down the Sissons in Virginia. Susan Jones
