Hello, A relative had sent me a copy of the 1920 Fruit Valley, Klickitat, Washington, federal census listing a John P, Edward, & Charles Sisson (all born in Illinois). He wanted to know if they were related to our (Fairfax) family line. I determined they were not. However, as long as I gathered the information from many censuses, I thought to share in case anyone can use the data. Please note various spellings of the women's first names. The 1900 WA census shows John P. Sisson, b. in Illinois, March 1852. His parents were from England. (The 1880 census shows John also went by his middle name Paul. At that early date, he is living next to a Robert Sisson, whose parents also came from England). His wife Hannah was born in Pa. in June 1857. She indicates she gave birth to two children. Son Edward W. was born Oct. 1892 in Illinois. Hannah's mother was born in Vermont and her father in Penn. By 1920, John is a widower. He is living with son Edward, a teacher, and Edward's wife Annette. Their daughter Irene is born later in 1924. John & Hannah’s other son appears to be Charles A. Sisson, born Feb. 1880 (or March 1881, depending on the census) as he is next to them on the Federal census list for 1900, 1910 and 1920. Charles had moved from Waddams, Stephenson, Illinois, to Klickitat, WA. Charles’ wife Nettie (or Jeanette) was born in June 1880 in Missouri. Her father was also born in Missouri. Besides their son Wesley, b. 1900, a daughter, Myrtle, was born in 1910. By 1930, son Wesley was in Clapsop, Oregon, with wife Nellie L. and daughter Dorthy, age 8. Laura Sisson-Thompson, Racine, WI
