There are many of us who descend from this Sisson lineage. I suggest that the record be given to whoever is maintaining Sisson records. I assume that either Carol or David and Joan, would be most appropriate. Another possibility is scanning the document and putting the pages on the Sisson website. However, I will defer to others on how best to proceed. Howard K. Watkins Fresno, CA Husband of Christine K. I bought it on Ebay many moons ago because it said SISSON and was cheap. I've contacted people before about it, maybe Carol? If I am remembering correctly, she told me it was a Kansas Sisson family. Anyway, it's a family record written on what looks like paper from a court book. The front of the page says "Township, ------ County" and on the reverse is Board of Highway Commissioners." One page is RIGGIN FAMILY RECORD. The first entry is Nehemiah Riggin born 1805 died 1882. Then Sarah Webb his wife born Nov. 2, 1813 died Sep 18, 1896. Then on the next page is SISSON FAMILY RECORD. First entry is Ricahrd Sisson born 1608 - his wife name Mary. George Sisson & Sarah Lawton 1664. Thomas Sisson born 1686 has will on record at westerly. R. I. mentions his wife Jane and 5 children. Giles Sisson son of Thomas Sisson Toward the bottom: Frank E. Sisson his youngest son born Jan. 25 1884 married to Irvyl Riggin. Does anybody know anyone who might want this record? (I mean somebody who is a descendant, not somebody who wants to sell it.) I'd be happy to give it to somebody who would appreciate having it for family reasons. Sincerely, Jan Porterfield I'll try to find a RIGGIN family website, too. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SISSON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Good suggestion, Howard. Carol is THE archivist for Sisson memorabilia. I suggest Jan and all who have articles that can show Sissons "in action" write to Carol. Her address is carol_thesis@yahoo.com. David Arne Sisson Howard K. Watkins wrote: > There are many of us who descend from this Sisson lineage.
