Hi Everyone, I am meeting my brother, Bill, the lst of August in Albany, NY to do some genealogy research in the State Archives. We are relatively new at this so if any of you have more information or any hints for research, we'd appreciate hearing from you. My line is: D. Reid Sisson, born 1901 in Goodland Twp, MI, (married Edith Walton , I have that line going back to 1776 in CT) John Sisson, born 1863 in MI, (married Jennette Reid, I have that info to 1801 in Scotland) Gilbert Sisson, born 1833 in Oakland Co. MI, ( married Clarinda Perry) Isaac Sisson, born 1801 in NY or VT,(married Hannah Potter, researched back to 1584, London, England, by Orchard Park, NY Historian, Sue Kulp) The mystery is Isaac's father, John. According to information submitted by Lowell Lavelle (deceased) Clark, John was born Oct. 12, 1784 in Danby Rutland, VT and married to Chloe Clark born 1781 in Danby VT, died Oct. 17, 1825 in Ballston Spa, NY. This would seem to indicate John is the son of George (pg 91 of Joan and David's book) but there are several discrepancies. I talked to Lowell Clark's sister a couple of years ago but she did not have a file for either Sisson or Clark. By the way, for those of you who met Bill's son, Matthew, at the Rochester Gathering, he successfully completed his first year at University of Michigan in the Honors Program although his interest seems to be leaning toward Astro-biology rather than Astro-physics. We are happy that he is interested in helping us with the genealogy research. We're also going to do some hiking along the Appalachian Trail, white water rafting and eventually hoping to end up in Acadia Nat'l Park in Maine. We look forward to seeing you at the 2008 Sisson Gathering, Lois Sisson Fountain
