Dear Cousins, It occurred to me that Googling "genealogy video" (without the quote marks) would yield much more. Try it. You'll be as overwhelmed as I was! David Arne Sisson
Thought I had sent this to the entire list, but found out I dind't.... Check this out. Found it this past October. www.rootstelevision.com It is something new and perhap leading the way in Internet TV. Not a whole lot to watch yet, but in the "How To" section, there are a number of film clips in the Research and Oral History sections that are informative for the beginning researcher. Everyone has expired. > > Sincerely, Maria Sisson-Tarkington Hi Maria! One possibility could be the "Monroe Sisson", age 4, in the 1850 census in Friendship, Allegany, NY. His parents were William and Sally Sisson. In this 1850 census, this William was 37, his wife Sally was 31, and they were living in the next household to Pardon (age 62) and Sally (60) Sisson. I have always believed that William was the son of Pardon and Sally, but have never been able to prove it by paper documentation. He could have been a nephew of Pardon instead. This Pardon Sisson's database webpage entry is currently at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~dasisson/richard/aqwg43.htm#1835 The names in parentheses behind his name are his ancestors in order, back to the immigrant couple Richard and Mary Sisson of Rhode Island, and each is clickable for more information. A familiar scam showed up in my mailbox recently, "family news" of Denver CO. I thought this guy had gone out of business but apparently he's just gone digital. For those who haven't heard of this outfit, it publishes family newsletters for (insert any name) which consist mainly of boilerplate to which is added a list of names and addresses gleaned from public records. The current ad advertises "Buy your family book for just $29.99" which gets you a book and cd. A note on the flyer says "This is a redo of the old "insert name here" Archives book. (Of course the flyer sent to me had "Rorer" inserted). The cd contains hundreds of unrelated Family Trees for the unwary to try searching. Probably each cd contains the same family trees so your chances of finding any relatives are slim at best. There is now a website "familynewsabout.com" but it contains little information. The "about us" link just pulls up the image of the letter of incorporation in the state of Colorado. I visited the website about a month ago and there was a feedback page, but it consisted largely of a complaint by the owner about how Jeff Scism ran the complaints page at Rootsweb. (Jeff has nothing to do with familynewsabout.com) However, tonight the page was not available. Apparently this guy still manages to keep selling his stuff to unwarry suckers. Don't bother, instead invest in the latest update to your favoriate genealogy program. David Rorer

I, by accident, have discovered the name of the wife of Henry Sisson [son of Henry & Anne Meeks Sisson]. She is currently listed on all of the pedigrees I have seen as Sarah ( ). She is Sarah Wilson. I can see why this has been difficult to find any proof. It is in one of the Richmond County Account Books, very tough reading. Sarah Wilson is a descendent of Elias Wilson the Elder, first Sheriff of Richmond County. This Henry is not in my line, but I have the detail source references if anyone is interested. Let me know and I will forward. Les Studebaker

This is going to be a tough one. I am trying to get a current address, email or otherwise, for a Mary Sisson. Sisson is her maiden name. I've lost contact with her in 1970. At that time she lived on Church Lane in Pikesville outside Baltimore, Maryland. She is now approximately 55-56 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Paul Zawicki zapzpaz@comcast.net
Good morning Sisson families: I am trying to get a current email address for Jeannette Howell who is a descendant of Frederick Sisson of Union County, SC, since previous addresses offer only reject messages due to age. A relative of mine has information she wishs to share from another line that may be relevant to Jeanettes line. If you can be of assistance please contact me privately at sissonltd@comcast.net Thank you and have a great weekend digging! Kathleen
