    3. Hi Carol, Congradulations on winning the pictures. If you need me to contribute on the pictures, please let me know. Also, I would like copies of the Male Sisson's. Office Max or a place like it can copy them on a thin picture stock paper that cost a dollar a page the last time that I copied pictures. They turn out pretty good. You can usually get several pictures on a page. Larry L. Sisson

    3. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SNATCH THIS COLLECTION UP FOR SAFEKEEPING? I have taken a look at the pictures and they appear to be related to the Sisson family in an album I got off Ebay some years ago who were from Ohio, too. That particular group I believe was related to the Rhode Island Sisson's that emigrated from NY...maybe I got it backwards but the names were SISSON/BELLINGER mostly. Carol Regehr currently has possession of the album I got though I still maintain copies of some of that families photo's. Thanks Carol for all you do. 3. Hi, Larry, and Sisson readers, Yes, let me share with you the cost of buying them. I'll split it with you. I doubt any are related to me, but I see a number from San Francisco, so it should not be difficult to speculate with some degree of reliability who they are. There were a few Sissons here in San Francisco. So bid, and let me know what I owe for the good of the cause. I believe the best way to handle pictures on ebay is to first try to decide if the person that is bidding is a Sisson or Sisson related. If that can not be determined, I defer the bidding to Carol if she wishes to bid on them. If she does not or is not in a financial position to buy them, then some one of us needs to pick up the slack, buy them and either donate them or copies of them to the Sisson Website. I would be willing to buy them if Carol can not or does not wish to purchase them at this time. I too see a tremendous amount of favor to my dad, my brother, and myself in 6 or 7 of these pictures. Edgar Allan Sisson in these pictures looks very much like myself and there is another picture of someone with a beard that looks enough like me when I had a beard that I had to do a double take. As I told Carol in a private email, this strengthens my belief that Edward Octavious Sisson and his ancestors are related to Richard, and I believe that possibly Richard came from either Durham, Northumberland, counties of England or possibly from across the line in Scotland. This is only my belief and I have nothing to prove it, but unless something changes , I am almost convinced of it. Larry L. Please send a list of your Sisson ancestry to me, and I'll see that it is passed on to the person who updates the online database. Start with yourself (though you won't find yourself, or other living people, named on the database). Give your full name and date and place of birth. Same for your parents, and then follow the line back through the Sisson ancestors as far back as you know (or can find out from relatives), with the same full names and dates and places of birth. It's OK if you don't know the complete information, but it's helpful to us if you can give what you do know. We may be able to make the link between what you know and what we know. The Generations Network, parent company of Ancestry.com, has announced it will combine its unrivaled collection of online family trees and historical documents with Sorenson Genomics' precision ancestral DNA testing. This unique partnership promises to revolutionize family history by allowing people to trace their roots and connect to distant cousins through DNA at the click of a mouse. Ancestry.com boasts more than 14 million users and the world's largest collection of online family trees. In the last 12 months alone, more than two million people have built family trees on Ancestry.com. Sorenson Genomics is one of the world's foremost laboratories for genetic genealogy testing services, and has been helping genealogists extend branches of their family trees through DNA analysis since 2001. "Entering the DNA category is a natural and powerful extension of our company's mission to connect families across distance and time," said Tim Sullivan, CEO of The Generations Network. "Our partnership with Sorenson Genomics creates an incredible combination of resources designed to demonstrate how closely we are all related." By taking a simple cheek-swab test and comparing results against DNA profiles in a test-results database, virtually anyone can uncover genealogical associations unimaginable just a few years ago. Users can easily connect with and discover lost or unknown relatives within a few generations, as well as gain insight into where their families originated thousands of years ago. In the coming months, Ancestry.com will release technology that captures DNA test results in an ever-expanding, searchable database. Using this database, users can easily identify distant cousins and tap into thousands of hours of already-completed genetic genealogical research, breaking through family tree dead-ends or barriers such as missing or inaccurate records and name changes. Ancestry.com is also developing technology that will allow users to integrate DNA results with the historical documents already in their online family trees. "DNA research becomes more meaningful to people searching for relatives as more peoples' DNA results become part of the database," said Doug Fogg, COO of Sorenson Genomics. "By combining the powerful networking effect of Ancestry.com's extensive user base with Sorenson Genomics' industry-leading DNA testing capabilities, this partnership will dramatically alter and expand the DNA testing services marketplace." Prior to the current partnership, Sorenson Genomics provided DNA testing and database matching services through its direct-to-consumer genetic genealogy division Relative Genetics. This new partnership agreement brings former customers of Relative Genetics and its DNA database under The Generations Network's umbrella. Sorenson Genomics will now provide DNA testing services for The Generations Network, and Ancestry.com will market DNA testing and database-matching services for genealogy purposes. Results of the Relative Genetics' DNA database will be included in Ancestry.com's growing database. About Ancestry.com With 24,000 searchable databases and titles, Ancestry.com is the No. 1 online source for family history information. Since its launch in 1997, Ancestry.com has been the premier resource for family history, simplifying genealogical research for millions of people by providing them with many easy-to-use tools and resources to build their own unique family trees. The site is home to the only complete online U.S. Federal Census collection, 1790-1930, as well as the world's largest online collection of U.S. ship passenger list records featuring more than 100 million names, 1820-1960. 2. I have tried for some time to make contact with Richard Sisson but to no avail. I have a published bio showing he holds the Board of Trustees Chair in Comparative Politics and is a professor in the Dept. of Political Science at the Ohio State University, from which he received his BA and MA degrees, and he received his PHD from Univ. of CA., Berkley. He has numerous publications to his credit, and was at one time a candidate for president of the University of Texas. From 1993-1998 Dr. Sisson served as the Provost and Interim President of The Ohio State University, and chief academic officer and chief executive officer of the nations's major comprehensive student-centered research universities with nearly 55,000 students, 30,000 faculty and staff. Before returning to Ohio State in 1993 Dr.Sisson was for 25 years a member of the political science faculty at UCLA, where he served as department chief and Senior Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. There is more but it is too extensive to retype. Hope this helps, John ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    3. Hi Niall, Great to hear from you again. Thanks for posting this. I have a lot of it already, but I don't have it organized. It is spread out in two or three different notebooks. I had also found some census records on Septimus and Edward here in the US. I had a obit on Edward's son Calvin Richard Sisson. I am not sure where it is now, buried somewhere here with a lot of my other info. The obit I believe mentioned that Calvin Richard Sisson had no children. There were other Sisson's in that same area of Washington state but I have no idea where they fit in as far as genealogy is concerned. You would think out of all this we could find a living descendant. There is no telling where this John Richard Sisson fits. Maybe I can write to the library at Ohio State and get some information.
