Julia may have been orphaned during the cholera epidemic in 1873. There is a narrative that described the event in Kentucky (and surrounding areas) and specifically mentions that a "Mr and Mrs Sink" -who had a young child - did die. It does not mention what happened to the child. We think it is likely that she was Julia Sink(s) who married Benjamin Decocq. She may have been raised by a Collins family. The Sink orphan from the cholera couple would be related to Judith C Jessop Rogers Benton. Judith Jessop married Philip Rogers and was widowed. She then married again to Benton, and was widowed again by 1870. The Mrs Sink in the cholera narrative is said to have been the daughter of Mrs Benton, but she was probably a "Rogers". She could have been one of at least five daughters the Rogers had. I think this child was most likely the daughter of Sarah Rogers and somebody Sink(s). Thanks again!
