Robert Simpkins born 1809 - 12-21-1891 married his 1st wife Hannah Flannigan born 1817 died 5-9-1856, according to the 1850 census the lived in Upper Penns Neck (Carneys Point), and robert is listed as a laborer. Roberts 2nd wifeElizabeth Bond married 2-4-1857. children of robert and hannah : Abigil Simpkins 1841, Alfred Simpkins 1842, May (mary) 1847, Emily 1848. Living on the same street as Robert and Hannah, are John Simpkins and his wife Marie, ( it was speculated that John was a brother to Robert) Roberts son Alfred born 1-12-1842-1930, married in 1871 to Amanda Dalbow born 9-24-1849- 1932 died at her daughters house Viva Bell of Daretown. Alfred was enlisted in the Civil War 8-13-1862, Pvt., 28th regiment, Co. G. He was wounded at Fredericksburg, Va., on 12-13-1862 and was mustered out 7-6-1863.Alfred and Amanda lived for a time in Penns Grove, Salem/Mannington, Pedricktown,and the Alloway, NJ, on Witt road and across the street from there farm was the 125 acre Drummond farm.
