Additional info on William: 1860 census - Alexander Co., Illinois 1870 census - at Santa Fe, Alexander Co., Illinois William Simpkins was 16 yrs. Nancys' senior. It was his first marriage. His father, John Simpkins passed away from an illness in 1852. William took over the probate and the family farm in Clear Creek. His mother, Jane, died before 1855. Both his sisters, Rebecca and Sarah, were married before 1855. William and Nancy started their life together in Clear Creek in the western side of Alex. Co. Ill., where John was born. But then spent the next 30 years in Unity and Sandusky, which is located in the eastern side of the same county. All the other children were born in Unity. The 1900 census shows Wm. and Nancy back in the Thebes Precinct {not the town}. I'm assuming they moved back to the original family farm. William died on Jan. 8, 1909 from senility and is buried on the family farm in the family cemetery according to the death record {I have a photo copy}. It's highly probable that Nancy is also buried in the family cemetery. Nancy's son, Charles W., had one son, Charles Carson who married Ione {?}. Charles died in Thebes, Ill. Aug. 1987 at the ripe old age of 90. Ione died in Thebes in 1980. Additional info on John G. Simpkins (Rev.
