    1. Re: [SIMPKINS] Re: Simpkins in Knox County, Ohio
    2. I have seen references that the Simpkins line having possible connections to Pa. and New York. At this point I am still researching New Jersey and West Virginia/ Virginia. The names Annais , Middleton and James Simpkins (Who Married the Indian Maiden in Virginia) keep popping up. I have also seen Seeley and Selah Simpkins in New York but in later censuses. i.e. Selah SimkinsPlattekill,Ulster,NY1820 Seeley is not really a common name and is actually a Surname of a Revolutionary Officer. There is actually three Seeley/ Selah Simpkins in Knox Co., Ohio. Seeley Simpkins, Sr. B: Abt 1727 D: 14 Apr 1815 Clinton, Knox Co, OH ; Seeley Simpkins B: 1791/1795 New Jersey D:21 May 1881 Knox Co, OH, Ebenezer Cemetery, Knox Co, OH and his son Seeley B: 3 Jun 1822 Knox, Ohio D: 14 Jun 1896 Ohio. I feel that Seely Simpkins Sr. is the Seeley Simkins that served under Captain Bloomfield's company, Third Battalion, First Establishment. Along with other possible brothers or close relatives.
