My gggrandmother, Elizabeth P. SIMPKINS, was married to Asa LORD of East Jewett, Greene Count, NY. Her parents were Lewis S. SIMPKINS and Ann GEE. I located their graves and took photos when I visited the area last summer. They are buried in the Allerton Family Cemetery located 3 miles from Cairo. I have the children of Lewis and Ann as: Elizabeth P., Lewis J., Daniel Parker, Rachael, Mary D., David Wesley and John Fletcher. One of the researchers I have corresponded with contends that Elizabeth P. and Daniel P. are the children of a Samuel SIMPKINS, born in Greenville abt 1793. Daniel D. SIMPKINS and Lewis J. SIMPKINS are buried in Freehold Cemetery in Greenville, which indicates a possible connection to Samuel for them if he is in Greenville as believed by some. However, I do not find Samuel on the 1800, 1810, 1820 or 1860 census. There are two Samuels on the 1860, but one is 32 and the other is 75. If this Samuel was born in 1793, he would be about 67. And, Lewis and Ann with some of the children are in Greenville in 1860. I would like to find out which is true. Any help would be most appreciated. OK, this is not my SIMPKINS line, but here's the way I find Lewis SIMPKINS in the census data (I am guessing for the 1830 census because there is no Lewis SIMPKINS in Greene County, NY, but Ulster County is just south of Greene.
