She was born in Coshocton, Ohio, in her Mother's house, on May 10, 1916, the daughter of the late Leroy and Bertha (Shaw) Simpkins, Sr. She attended Coshocton High School, and was a life member of Central Christian Church in Coshocton, Coshocton Moose Lodge 357, VFW 2040, and was a member of the Sweet Adeline's. Eileen retired from Novelty Advertising Co. in Coshocton, Ohio. On June 2, 1934, she married Dale E. Wright, and then on August 10, 1963, she married Daniel Lee Norris, both of whom preceded her in death. Eileen is survived by two sons, Dale B. (Dixie) Wright of Coshocton, Ohio, Sheldon R. Wright of Newcomerstown, Ohio; three daughters, Patricia C. Mathias of Fresno, Ohio, Linda M. Neighbor of Warsaw, Ohio, Dixie S. (Jon) Mathias of West Lafayette, Ohio; sister, Shirley Graham of Coshocton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by grandson, Brian D. Mathias; granddaughter, Lori Willard; four brothers, Dale, Joe, Linwood, and Leroy Simpkins, Jr.; sister, Virginia J. Simpkins; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jane Wright; son-in-law, Adrian D. Mathias. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Given Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Philip Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends and neighbors at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Contributions may be directed to the Central Christian Church, 731 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio, in her memory. A memorial for Eileen is located at www.given-dawsonfuneralhome.com.
