Hello distant (or not so distant) cousins, My line came from the UK to South Africa around the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. The lineage goes as far back the late 19th century with Samuel Henry Simpkins. Do any of the British Simpkinses show anyone leaving for South Africa? Does anyone show a Samuel Henry at all? I believe he was Irish, but I am not certain of that. He is listed as "English" by South African registries, but I think an Irishman was classified as such at the time.
