Mary named one of her daughters, Rhoda Perin. Before Ephraim got to Ohio, he appears in the 1800 federal census in Milton, Cayuga, New York, the same place where Samuel Perin was living. They came to Ohio together. In New York Ephraim had in his household, one male age 10-15, two females under 10, and two females 10-15, but no adult female. Ephraim married in 1784 to Hannah Stathem in Greenwich, Cumberland, New Jersey which was where he was born, and is still in Cumberland as late as 1793 per militia and tax records. He married a second time to Mary Chandler in about 1805 and she was the wife who accompanied him to Ohio.

He had a daughter, Fanny Simpkins born c 1768 in New York. Fanny married Henry Bishop, s/o John Bishop & Margaretha Obermeyer, in Montgomery County, VA May 23, 1785. According to the 1880 census, their son Henry stated that his mother was born in New York. I don't have any information concerning the wife of Daniel Simpkins. It is believed that Daniel Simpkins was the son of James Simpkins born c 1729 in New York, James' spouse unkown. Appreciate any help with this line in my family; I'm a descendant of Henry & Fanny Simpkins Bishop, and Fanny's family is my brick wall. Thank you. Carol

Hello: I'm looking for the family of Slaves named Simpkins. They came to Canada after the Revolutionary War (I think) and one of them settled in Ontario. Either 1790's or 1813 or thereabouts. They apparently came from either the Carolinas, Virginia or New York State. If you have anything, to get me going, I'd appreciate it. Bonnie
