I am very interested in your post - my ggggrandfather was a William Shuman from Pennsylvania. I believe I have found him on the 1850 Census in Pine Twp, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. On that census it listed his age as 41 - but this sounds close. Any other info you can find would be greatly appreciated.
