Peggy, Hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving as we did this year. Have you any more information on Karen Romick? Also, any census records, death records, etc that you might have on James Shuman, Jacob Shuman the father of James and Jacob, and Christian Shuman would be appreciated. The only information I have is on Charles Augustus Shuman, my grandfather, and your ggrandfather, James Jacob. I even have information on your ggrandfather that his church mailed to me. He was very active in his church in Charlotte. Has anyone been able to find out who owned and/or ran the Shuman Plantation that was either on York Road and/or what is now Remount Road. I found the cemetery, but there were no names on the graves and was told it was the slave cemetery. What a shame for those looking for their ancestors. Any more information on the Beatty family? Would love to know more about my grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth Beatty Shuman who married Charles Augustus Shuman. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
