This is a bit of a stretch, but the following excerpt from the section of William C. Shuman's book The George Shuman Family Genealogy and History, 1913, Evanston, IL., titled "A Franklin County Family - Thought to Have Come from Switzerland" Page 304, under the section "A Synopsis of Other Shumans" may bear relevence to the question posed: ============================================================ "Philip Shuman, blacksmith, lived in Letterkenny township, Franklin county, Pa. Had two brothers, John and Henry. He had six children:" I. Philip, b. about 1787. Moved to OH, then to IL. II. Benjamin, b. about 1789. Weaver, M. Mary Wallace, and had: 1. Margaret Ann, b. 1823. 2.
