    3. James, First, here are 3 other early marriages in Belmont County, Ohio. JAMES SHEWMAN (SHUMAN) and CATHARINE WOLFORD 6 Apr 1810 JOHN WELLS and POLLY SHEWMAN (SHUMAN) 2 JULY 1812 MOSES SHEWMAN (SHUMAN) and CATHERINE BRIGHT 2 JUNE 1816 No. I am not a descendant of JOSIAH and THIS SARAH. I am from ADAM'S line. One of Adam and Mary's children was a SARAH SHUMAN. Along the way Sarah married a WARNER. Have not found any date or written proof yet. One of their children was an ADAM also, along with JOSEPH and a few more. JOSEPH was mentioned as a WARNER, son of Sarah, in Mary's will. I hate to assume anything in genealogy work, but it appears that ADAM was also born a WARNER. After SARAH and this WARNER split up, she reverted back to her maiden name of SHUMAN and used it for her children as well. That being what it appears to have happened, then ADAM is my direct ancestor and I could then connect with Bruce Shuman's line. Bruce and I are working on this trying to find the ever elusive proof. Any thoughts or comments that anyone has on this is more than welcome. Thanks for your reply James.
