Hi! My name is Diane Swiger and I just joined this list yesterday. I thought I would post my interests and see what's going on with everyone else. I actually descend from two lines of SHUMANs that eventually connect. Dates are mostly speculative because they were received from other people and have not been checked out further except for Marion County, WV, ancestors. My first line is: 1. Henry SHUMAN -- born 1782 and died 7 June 1857 in Monongalia Co, VA. He married Sarah ?. 2. William SHUMAN -- born 1802 in Monongalia Co, WV; died 20 January 1882. He married Matilda KENDALL on 21 February 1826 in Marion County, WV. 3. George Washington SHUMAN -- born 1828 in Ministers Run, Monongalia Co, WV; died 20 September 1894 in Marion County, WV. He married Mary Anne FLOYD ca 1852. 4. Eli Addison SHUMAN -- born 15 Aug 1853 in Marion County, WV; died 31 Oct 1925 in Marion County, WV. He married Phoebe Diane MICHAEL on 2 June 1877 in Marion County, WV. 5. Lydia Anna SHUMAN -- born 24 February 1879 in Marion County, WV; died 7 October 1953 in Mannington, Marion County, WV. She married Lewis BARKER on 18 November 1895 in Logansport, Marion County, WV. 6. Inez Maxine BARKER (my grandmother) -- born 9 February 1908 in Ravenswood, Jackson County, WV; died 3 apr 1985 in Fairmont, Marion County, WV. She married Harry Earl JOLLIFFE on 23 December 1925 in Oakland, Garrett County, MD. I will stop there with that line since SHUMANs are no longer the main surname. More can be provided if needed. My second line is as follows: 1. John SHUMAN -- born ca 1760-70 in PA; died May 1832 in Monongalia Co, WV; He married Elizabeth SMITH ca 1785. 2. Elizabeth SHUMAN -- born ca 1812 in Monongalia Co, WV. She married John L FLOYD in 1832. 3. Mary Ann FLOYD -- born ca 1829-33 in Paw Paw District, Marion Co, WV; died 9 Sept 1895 in Marion Co, WV. She married Eli Addison SHUMAN on 2 June 1877 in Marion County, WV (thus my connection with the other line). This is lengthy, but you said to include your family lines. I would like to correspond with anyone working on the same lines. Diane Swiger
