WILLIAM1 KENNEDY, JR. (WILLIAMA) was born 01 January 1793 in Monongalia Co., WV, and died 14 February 1864 in Monongalia Co., WV. He married ELLEN SHUMAN 26 April 1819 in Monongalia Co., WV, daughter of HENRY SHUMAN and SARAH KENDALL. Notes for WILLIAM KENNEDY, JR.: Another date for his birth is 20 Jan 1793. According to Dave Kennedy, William Jr. built his house on hte left side of his father's home. A prosperous farmer, he bought 114 1/2 acres of his father's farm at his death, along with over 200 acres on Little Paw Paw Creek. Later he added to is portion of the original farm when he bought 35 acres adjoining land of Ben Shuman. He also made money in the timber business, and operated an inn and tavern in McCurdysville. He died 15 Feb. 1864; his wife Ellen Shuman died 12 Jan 1873. They are buried in the Kennedy Cemetery on McFarlands run with marble grave markers.
