The Letters of Robert Schumann Selections of Robert Alexander Schumann's letters which, as the author expreses "undoubtedly form one of the best clues to his character." The letters are arranged to form a biography, providing a rare insight into Schumann's inner development, as well as, his outward career. This 299 page book edited by Dr. Karl Storck and translated by Hannah Bryant was first published by Benjamin Blom, Inc. (London) in 1907. This copy is a 1971 re-issue. Born at Zwickau, in Savony on June 8, 1810, Schumann is the embodiment of the German romantic movement as artist and musician.
