He was a son of Jacob and Chloe Curry Shuman born near Calais in Noble county. He had been a teacher in Ohio schools for 46 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Douglass Shuman; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Clemens of New London; four sons, Lawrence Shuman, Cleveland; Homer and Alva Shuman, Quaker City R D; Harry Shuman; one brother, Oscar Shuman and a sister, Miss Mary Shuman of Quaker City R D. Mr. and Mrs Wilford Shuman, Mrs. Cora Shuman and Miss Evajeanne Shuman of Quaker City attended the services held Thursday December 4, with burial at Ripley, Ohio.
