    3. Hi Elaine, Saw your query regarding immigration lists into New York in 1885. I am looking at a National Archives Publication, "Immigrant & Passenger Arrivals". On page 10, it lists roll 483 as showing passengers arriving in New York as immigrants for the period Jan 1, 1885 to March 16, 1885. Roll #491 covers the time frame Oct 28 through Dec 31 1885. In between are the other months. They are all part of Record Series M237, consisting of 675 rolls, 1820-1897. Hope this may be of some help.
