I have seen several mentions of the Lutheran Church records archived at Thiel College and the difficulty in getting the College to respond to genealogical requests. I have minimal knowledge of what they actually contain, but my wife's late cousin was the one who responded to these requests. He was a retired Lutheran pastor and volunteered as archivist. Apparently the College has no one who can delve into these records except volunteers and their availability and ability to search determines whether the information can be obtained. This is not to discourage those making requests, but to prepare them for a lengthy wait [perhaps forever] before their queries can be answered. Mike Poston Rockville, Maryland
