JOHN HASTINGS SHUMAN b. 2/15/10 d. 11/21/71 brother LUTHER WILLIAM SHUMAN married MABEL BRITT sister BERNICE (BUNN) SHUMAN WOOLBRITE McINTYRE was first married to (Abbe) Woolbrite maybe of Jesup, GA later married LEE McINTYRE sister (name not known) who died 1940 of food poison Their mother LEOLA ELLIS SHUMAN from Estell, SC Their father (name not known) died around1922 probably in that area. I have found out that MANASSAA HENRY SHUMAN of Hampton, SC is my Great, Great Grandfather and his parents were - WILLIAM HENRY SHUMAN of Hampton, SC and MORELLA ELIZABETH GRIMES. Somehow my grandmother seems to think we are related to MARTIN SHUMAN of Germany who came to the US in 1750 settling in Beaufort Dist. SC My grandmother has told me that when married granddaddy he was 18 yrs. her senior and it was his second marriage. His family was not happy with my grandmother because of her poor background and her age. My grandparents had little to no contact with the Shuman family. Plus my Great Grandfather whose name no one knows died when my grandfather was 12. Any information or direction someone could send me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Tina Prater
