I think I am confused on how to send a message. Here it goes, My great grandmother was Mary Adeline Shuman Crappse, she was married to Jacob S. Crappse who was shot and killed by his cousin Jessie Crapps in 1905 leaving her with 8 young children. That is how my grandfather and his brothers ended up in New Jersey. Mary Adeline Shuman was the daughter of Joseph (JJB) Shuman, son of Joseph Shuman, son of Martin Shuman, son of Martin Shuman. Looks like she was the youngest sister of Joseph D. Shuman, she had 3 older married sisters, Harriet, Isabell and Salina, and a younger brother Talvert. She was about 15 yrs old when her father died. Hope someone gets this and I am doing this correctly. Marie
Cousins, Fall is definitely here, and I thought now would be a good time to call your attention to a message that appeared in this week's "RootsWeb Review." I've reproduced it here FYI, and I do strongly recommend it, especially for those who haven't been searching very long, or who feel "in a rut" or "up against a brick wall." Spend some time perusing these "lessons," and see how many new ideas you can glean! Best wishes all! JS List Custodian ROOTSWEB'S GUIDE TO TRACING FAMILY TREES consists of brief interactive genealogy lessons with research tips, links to relevant resources at RootsWeb and elsewhere on the Internet, and suggested reading and reference lists. While there is no lesson "What is the Meaning of Life?," there is one called "What is the Question?" Fifteen lessons are online now and more will be posted beginning again in a few weeks. This wee hiatus gives those who haven't yet joined in the fun a chance to catch up, and the rest of us a chance to marvel at the changes, among which are some additional links and references, and improved printing instructions. The lessons are available also in PDF format. Suggestions are welcomed (please use the Feedback button at the end of each lesson). <http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/> _______________________________________________ James Shuman, Telecommunications Coordinator The California Arts Project jshuman@telis.org http://www.ucop.edu/tcap/ _______________________________________________

Their spouses' names might also help to narrow the possibilities. Bruce Shuman BAShuman@aol.com

Julie, I ave a cousin Janice Shuman born May 25, 1943, probably in Georgia to Lyle W. and Glodene Shuman. Janice may have married a man named Burch (last name) and died in May 1973 in Claxton, GA.Do you know how to find an obituary for someone who died in Claxton? BTW, Lyle died in Agust 1972 in Ellijay, GA, while Glodene died in Nov. 1974 in Long Beach California. Perhaps Glodene and Lyle W. split up, but I have no idea when. that might explain why they were buried about 2000 miles apart. -- Richard L. We are researching the Mulrine family of Huntington County,Indiana, possibly Roanoke area. We have found that a David Mulrine married a Rosannah Victoria Shuman Jul 13,1857. Possibly they put in their for their license Jul 13,1857 and married Aug.21,1857. We want to know if this David Mulrine came from the same Mulrine family as ours. Simon Mulrine and Sarah Francis Johnson. Simon also married twice. Can anyone confirm these lines for me? Ginger Weston
