Hi Marie, I haven't been such a good correspondent lately because I am out of the country so much. I teach English to foreign businessmen in their country. I spent much of 2001 in Austria and have just returned from spending the Fall, until last month, in Japan where I was working for the Asian Olympic Winter Games in northern Japan. Next stop is Mexico, then Russia in the Fall again. I hope to visit my friend in Germany, too, the only survivor of U-869. His story was featured in the NOVA/PBS film on which I worked (see titles) and which was broadcast on PBS in 2000. So this is a peculiar retirement, but it is fun. When I am home I have a weekly German-language broadcast on WRFR, a local FM station. Son Sven and wife Gayle (Washington D.C.) have a one year old baby boy, Björn now. I have been blessed with good health and am taking advantage of that fact. Life in Maine is fine, except for the burst water pipes and wind blowing shingles off the house. Spring will come, they say. I hope you are fine and always enjoy the Newsletter. Best wishes, Tomm 1069 Clarry Hill Rd. Union, ME 04862 207 785 2280 tommshockeyyahoo.com
