Hello Shockey cousins, I guess the good news is that I am back home after a few very rough days. I will be laid up for a couple of weeks at least and will slowly try to catch up on my email. Last Wednesday evening after I got off work I went to Parkersburg to spend the evening with my mother at Camden-Clark Hospital. When visiting hours were over Naomi and I visited the Sam's Club in Vienna to pick up a few items and then headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant. We placed our order, I went and washed my hands and came back to eat a few chips dipped in salsa while waiting for the meal. I dropped the first chip, managed to eat the second one but dropped the third as the room started swimming by. The ambulance crew arrived in a couple of minutes, found that I had a single blood pressure number of 67 (could not find a bottom number), tried to stabilize and headed to the ER. I was moved to the heart unit and underwent the full treatment until Friday afternoon when it was decided that my heart was fine but that I have an extremely severe blood infection. The heart monitoring equipment was removed Friday afternoon and I was moved upstairs where antibiotics were pumped into me every twelve hours to lower my white blood count. I must travel back to Parkersburg each day for the next ten days to receive more antibiotics through the PICC that runs from my right forearm up and across to my heart. I am to take it easy, no work, keep feet elevated as much as possible and get plenty of rest. From the amount of time that it took to download my email it appears that it will take a few days at least to wade through it. From the subjects of some of these, there appears to have been a great deal of activity on the Shockey Family email list and I will try to respond to the ones directed at me as I can.
